During the inauguration Olivia was attacked by police and arrested while protesting the bigotry of Trump. They need funding to help fight these politically motivated charges and defend the ability of social movements to resist.

In Washington D.C., during the inauguration of Donald Trump, hundreds of activists were targeted, brutalized, imprisoned, denied basic essentials like food, water, medical treatment and bathrooms while taking a stand against the sexism and White supremacy Trump represents and emboldens. Over 200 people were charged with a slew of felonies with penalties up to a max of 75 years. After a year of struggle and the first trial of six defendants resulting in full acquittals, some of the charges have been dropped and many of people have had their cases dropped. Despite having similar cases, Olivia, along with 58 others, are still facing 6 felonies and 2 misdemeanor charges as a result of the mass arrest incident. The prosecution's vindictive perusal of these charges has already chilled dissent and threatens to set a dangerous precedent for gov't crackdown on social movements of all sorts.

This fund is for Olivia, a midwest defendant who is heavily invested in their community, but who is now forced to take valuable time, energy, and resources away from themself and the community in order to fight these trumped up charges. Olivia needs funding to cover travel, food, legal, and incidental cost while resisting state repression. Please give what you can, even if it's only $5. Any and every donation will go a long way in ensuring that justice prevails and helps them get back to making their communities better. Your donations couldn't go to anyone more appreciative and loving. <3
