We are a group of citizens located in NW Knoxville who are opposed to the location of the Helen Ross McNabb 72-hour jail diversion program. We believe there are many other non-residential locations throughout the city that would be more suitable for this type of program. The proposed location is surrounded by R-1 (residential) zoning and many of the citizens have concerns about how their property and lives will be affected. The community has not been properly informed or represented during this process.

So far, we have raised and spent over $1,000 for fees to appeal the Knoxville MPC use on review for the proposed property where the facility will be located, printing of flyers and signs, and other supplies. We need your support to fund two more appeals and also to secure legal counsel.

This is our best opportunity to stop this facility from being located in our community!
