Life behind bars for my brother
We need your help raising money for an attorney and a polygraph.

My family is desperately seeking help for my brother Paul E. Barnett Jr. who has been wrongly convicted of murder and has no DNA evidence available to present. We have applied to several Innocence Projects over the years to no avail, due to lack of DNA or long waiting list. He has always expressed a desire to take a polygraph since the time of his arrest, we are hoping to raise enough money to pay for the test to add to his case file to help in his appeal. Our family doesn’t have the means to pay for the test and the retention of a lawyer ($5000.00) to provide the means of access and representation for my brother who has been held hostage in the Michigan Department of Corrections for 25 years. There was an 8 year old traumatized witness that gave several descriptions that do not match my brother who she had a casual awareness of. We believe the lead detective of this case (D/Sargent G. Hough) was not interested in truth and justice, but intent on closure at any cost. We believe the prosecutor wanted a conviction in a high profile case regardless of the truth. We believe the public defender was derelict in her duty to show the jury the elements of the case that were lacking in evidence and consistency to show reasonable doubt.
