This story starts with David, Me and a little school in Southern California. My name is Beth. David and I met in school-college at Cal Poly Pomona-each aspiring to be the best teachers we could be. Our path has taken us all over California teaching, living and working together to brighten the futures for thousands of students for over 30 years. Our relationship is one like soul mates-he’s a brother to me. I believe in David to the bottom of my soul so I am elected to be the one writing his story.

David is one of the finest K-8 grade teachers you would ever have the good fortune to meet. He is smart, energetic, funny and loving. He has a style of teaching unlike anyone. David brings students into his heart and soul, takes them outdoors for real life lessons, makes sure they get plenty of activity to peak interest and gets to know families by opening his classroom activities to them. For thirty years David has had so much success teaching that there were waiting lists for students to get into his classroom. Never has he had a problem with his style of teaching.

One day, in the middle of class, David is arrested. He realizes a parent has accused him of molesting his son. In the days to follow, a child David raised out of high school (now 35) with many mental health issues, drug and alcohol abuse and a lengthy legal record is also claiming abuse and got his best friend to report as a third “victim”. Due to laws in CA that say an accusation is all that is needed to deny bail, David was in jail 14 months with no preliminary hearing to determine any guilt. In December we finally had a preliminary hearing and 8 counts were dropped. He was given bail then, finally. It was determined the arresting officer made up lies, mis represented kids in interviewing and reported outright mis information to the DA. Now we learn the DA is involved socially with these same families making the accusations.

David’s family has spent their retirement money and all their savings on lawyers. We kept thinking each month there would be a hearing but it kept getting postponed. We finally discovered that the lawyer we had hired was working on the side of the prosecutor!! We now have a lawyer on our side but we lost $70,000 and 7 months time. All that we know, leads us to believe there was no act of sexual misconduct or abuse that occurred. We have one of the best legal representatives in the country working on this case as well as a local team of experts.

I am asking, even begging, for you to donate today! The money we are raising in this campaign is going toward legal fees to get David a fair and just trial. His family has spent their retirement and savings thus far and we are out of funding for the remainder of the work needing to be done. Other ways to help include buying David’s book, “Ramblings of a Ranger” by David Frederick on Amazon, helping us get his case into the public eye and sharing his story with everyone you know.

I know we can get him exonerated from this nightmare if we can follow it through. David is an artist as well as an author and has offered a personal drawing to everyone who donates over $100. Please donate all you can to keep another innocent guy from succumbing to the legal system. We are grateful beyond belief for everyone’s support.
