Defend Our Hoodz held a surprise picket of the first event at the Riverside Arts District, a developer created sellout arts district.

A white homeowner, Larry Sunderland, assaulted two of our picketers while we walked by. When the cops came, Larry lied and pointed out one of our organizers, claiming they assaulted Larry first.

Or course the cops arrested our comrade. They are now in Travis County Jail and need our support.

Larry is part of the 'Friends of Riverside ATX' a developer-friendly group of mostly white homeowners who have been working with Presidium Group from the  beginning to push the Domain on Riverside. Presidium Group created the Riverside Arts District along with Austin Creative Alliance. Almost Real Things and Pump Project held their first event on picketed land today, and as always, relied on the racist, brutal pigs to protect them. These supposedly progressive, edgy artists count on the pigs to protect them when they're shown to be sellouts.

There is video proving Larry is a liar and coward, but our comrade needs as much support as possible. Anything helps. And we can honor this comrade's sacrifice by continueing to support the boycott against the Riverside Sellout Arts District and the organizing against the 'Domain on Riverside.'
