Hi, I am Nayelli Bautista. I'm a 26 year old woman who has hit a roadblock these past two years.

Two years ago, I was told by my parents I was born in the US, and not in Mexico like I always thought. My parents did not know at the time how beneficial it would be to have a dual citizenship daughter, and since they never showed interested in moving to the United States, they kept it to themselves.

I moved to the United States under the impression I was an immigrant and was doing paperwork as an immigrant. It wasn't until I went to the social security office I was told that I was born in Texas all this time. I was surprised and decided to confront my parents about it. They gave me their reasons, and I didn't question them. Instead, my parents decided it was a good idea to process for a US Passport. After ONE year of processing, my passport got rejected due to the weird nature of my birthplace and who processed it. My parents had chosen at the time to go to a midwife instead of a hospital because it was closer to where they were at the moment (small backstory: my mom and dad were out shopping in one of Texas' border towns and her water broke then and there).

So because of this, my parents hired a lawyer so I can claim my US citizenship. Unfortunately, my father was hit with heavy medical bills mid-2017 and has left my family with virtually nothing at this moment. There is one attorney fee pending, and this is where I am asking for help. I am a freelancer graphic designer, but lately, I have not had good luck getting projects so I can afford at least a tenth of the fee. Or even any 9-5 job. I normally would not ask for money, and instead just vent about it; but any bit helps to lessen the burden off from my family. I will be extremely grateful for any donation given, or even for sharing this crowdfunding campaign.

Thank you for reading, and hope things will get better from here.
