As a parent I never thought I would be fighting for my son’s freedom let alone think I would be reaching out to my friends, family and community to help us in our fight. However, you can never predict what life will throw at you all, all you can do is stay strong and be willing to fight through any battle that comes your way. And here I am reaching out for help in our fight to bring my son home.
On March 16th 2017 eight days after my sons 31st birthday, my son Anthony (better known as Tony) was arrested and charged with Murder in the First Degree, committed during the commission of a dangerous felony, two counts of Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary for a crime he did not commit and did not participate in. No evidence, nothing linking him to the crime except a statement from someone who was trying to get a better deal for his confession.
Anyone who knows my son would tell you that he is an Amazing father to his son, a good friend, loving funny, helpful to friends family and community, but one thing he is not is a murder or a dangerous criminal. My son would give the shirt off of his back to help someone in need. Tony's life revolves around his son, his family and helping the community. Anthony was a coach for his sons numerous sports, he also is a licensed boxing coach and loves spending his time standing in the corner of the ring. Tony is an active Volunteer for the American Red Cross where he has helped many families in emergency situations, he was such a influential volunteer that they wanted to get him hired on as a paid employee so he can help our community even more. He was in the process of signing up as a Volunteer Fire Fighter, in hopes to further his career and become a Emergency Medical Technician or as a Licensed Security Guard.
My son had a full time job, was a full time dad and used his free time volunteering and giving back to the community with everything he was involved in he barely had time to relax let alone have time to commit such a horrific crime. My son believes in and supports our law enforcement and he believed in our judicial system until last Thursday when that same system failed him. They stripped him of his life and freedom, they took him from his son, ruined his name, degraded his character and ruined his reputation in this community all because of a statement from a criminal. As much as my heart goes out to the victim and their family for the horrific crime that took place, I can only imagine that they want justice and closure. However, justice is not convicting an innocent man of a crime he did not commit, he will never be able to provide them with closure they need and deserve.
As a parent I always swore to protect my children to the best of my abilities, and there is no doubt in my mind that my son is innocent, the facts are fact and I know for a fact my son was not there, he is not guilty of these crimes because it is physically impossible to be at two places at once. Therefore, I am reaching out to friends, family and our community pleading for help.
Tony was officially charged today and was given until March 30th 2017, to come up with $10,000.00 to hire an Attorney, so we can adequately fight for his freedom. If I had even the slightest doubt in my mind that he was involved I would not be doing this. I am 100% positive that he is Innocent and deserves his freedom and to be home with his son who is suffering greatly. I know that this is a lot of money but any amount helps. I cannot live with myself if my son has to lose his life behind bars for something he didn't do, let alone have to explain to my grandson that his Daddy isn't coming home. So I will continue to fight every day until justice is served and my son is set free. My son needs all of the support possible and I pray that everyone that Tony ever knew or helped in life can come back and give him the support and assistance he so desperately needs.
Thank you for taking your time to read my story, thank you for any donations that may be made, please continue to pray for my son and my family during this difficult time.
