On February 28, 2019, community members gathered at Tempe City Council’s meeting to demand #Justice4AntonioArce, an unarmed Latino 14-year-old shot by Tempe Police as he ran away. Tempe City Council refused to let us speak, turned their backs on us and walked out, so we marched. The police violently arrested four of Antonio's supporters on bogus, trumped up charges of "obstructing a public thoroughfare," "resisting arrest," "aggravated assault on a police officer," "disorderly conduct-fighting," and more.

One protester is being charged with a felony and is unable to afford legal assistance, so we're asking our community for support. Our goal is to raise $3,000 for legal fees by April 23, 2019.

Not only were these arrests unjust, the names and photos of the arrested protesters were broadcast on the news, and within 24-hours the protesters received death threats. The arrests and the threats are attempts to silence those of us who are understandably concerned with the City of Tempe’s silence regarding the killing of an unarmed teen.

Please give what you can and share.
