This is a fundraiser organized by individuals with Austin DSA, to support the fourteen individuals arrested on October 6 in Austin, TX.

While today was an extremely disheartening day, following months of fear, trauma, and anger, our friends took this opportunity to sit down in the eye of the storm.  They blocked off the South Lamar Bridge in protest, during ACL traffic, causing motorists to take a moment and reflect, in whatever way they would, on the day's events.  After about three hours, police arrested and removed all fourteen.

All of our friends who were arrested have the support of excellent lawyers.  The Austin Lawyer's Guild is specifically experienced in and committed to representing protestors and other actors of civil disobedience.  However, there will be some amount of legal fees.  Any amount of funding raised beyond that required to see our friends through this process will be donated to the Austin Lawyer's Guild.

Please give what you can and share with trusted friends.  If you aren't able to give at this time, please check with Austin DSA to find out other ways you can support those who were arrested today and how you can be part of the fight for justice in the future.

Solidarity Forever.
