Nathan is 19 years old. We are from the "Red state" of Idaho, but even here, we face a situations that seems to allow the constitutional lines to blur from time to time. Nathan is facing charges of resisting and obstructing arrest for not answering the door of a bedroom after being awakened after the officers entered the house without permission of any authorized person of the household. There was also no probable cause for entry as it was 8.30 in the morning and when the authorites showed up to find out who had partially blocked the neighbors driveway with a car that was immediatly moved. There were no obvious signs of anything illegal happening, but the officers entered anyways. They ended up unscrewing the doorknob to get in the room where Nathan was, and he then humbly submitted. There is a complete video of all the officers activity from the time they arrived though his questioning. No other people were charged and Nathan was not arrested but got a citation, that some how they have been able to change 3 times to finally end up at this charge. He had a public defender at first, but though the charges changed and paperwork was submitted late, No plea bargain was offered and trial was set to began, but Nathan asked the Judge if he could change his lawyer and start over, and the Judge allowed it, so here we are. There was a day when the authorities fully respected the Fourth Ammendment. "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized". At age 18, Nathans home was entered wrongly, but the burden falls on him to prove that he was violated. It cost money to defend yourself, and because of this many people are unjustly punished, and precidents begin to be set against all, but especially the youth because they tend to find trouble and learn the hard way as parents can't allways afford good council. Please help Nathan take a stand and maybe set a fresh precident by donating to his defense fund to help pay for a constitutional professional that should easily win this case or help get a dismissal. It's important that we stand up for our rights as they continue to erode. Thank you so much. Be blessed and God Bless America
